Advanced Technology & Treatments

Improving our patient's health using the power of technology.

When it comes to your patients, we know you strive for the best care possible. At Baton Rouge Rehabilitation Hospital, we strive for the same thing. Our dedicated 81-bed rehabilitation hospital is home to nurses and therapists specifically trained in many types of rehabilitation, as well as some of the most advanced rehabilitation equipment available for both inpatient and outpatient services.

If you think your patient may benefit from inpatient or outpatient services, trust the best-Baton Rouge Rehabilitation Hospital. Here are some of the services we offer:

ERGYS 2 Bike
Originally designed for actor Christopher Reeve, uses computerized functional electrical stimulation to allow patients with little or no voluntary leg movement to actively pedal a stationary cycle. This can increase muscle mass, strength, oxygen intake and the heart's pumping volume.

VitalStim & Experia Therapy
An innovative procedure that facilitates retraining of throat muscles affected by dysphagia. For more information, click here.

The ZeroG Overground Gait and Balance Training System
This system allows therapists to safely practice intensive physical therapy early in a patient's rehabilitation through a wide range of training activities. For more information, click here.

Infrared Goggles
This device can be used to treat vestibular disorders.  Infrared goggles are used with state of the art camera technology, which allows the trained specialist to accurately diagnose a variety of vertigo and disequilibrium disorders in patients who struggle with imbalance and dizziness.

Dry Needling
We have 4 specially trained Physical Therapists that cover our inpatient, outpatient and day treatment programs. This effective therapy can treat muscle tension and spasms which commonly accompany conditions such as arthritis, nerve irritation, muscle strain, ligament sprains and herniated discs. Dry Needling has also been found to be an effective form of treatment for spasticity after upper motor neuron lesions, such as stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis (Zhu et al).
